Youth Council: This committee is responsible for developing services for youth throughout NCCC that are designed to assist youth with achieving academic and career goals. Areas that the Council concentrates on include the linkage between education and business, particularly as it relates to the K-12 education system. Specific emphasis is placed on engaging youth who are not attached to the education system in any manner.

Finance: This committee is responsible for budget evaluations and strategic planning for each fiscal year. The committee will evaluate budgets, set goals and develop consistent cost pers on participant costs and determine indirect costs as associated with running One Stops. In addition to evaluating NCCC’s yearly budget, the committee will be responsible for directing staff to secure additional funding sources from which to operate. In terms of evaluating strategic direction, at least once a year the committee will be charted with examining the previous year’s work plan and making adjustments as necessary to allow the Workforce Investment Board and One Stops to continue to work towards reaching its strategic goals.

Inactive Committees
 
Board Development: This committee focuses on the health of the Boards. Working to strengthen membership, build leadership, and a strong knowledge base among members is the primary work of the committee. In addition, this committee ensures that the Boards are positioned through public relations strategies as a “go to” organization for workforce issues in the counties.

 
Evaluation: This committee evaluates programs and operations of the Workforce Investment Board and the One Stops to ensure high performance and quality delivery. This would include One Stop Certification, monitoring WIA and other program and fiscal oversight. The work of this committee will go beyond the mandate of federal law and grant requirements and will work to develop return on investment measures for the Boards and community indicators of success.
